What’s on in March ’19

Into Lent

Friday 1st March – World Day of Prayer – 2.30pm in Sawtell Uniting Church (lead by representatives from various churches. Guest speaker Rev. Myung Hwa Park. Time of dedicated prayer, this weay focussing on the people of Slovenia. Afternoon tea to follow.

Sunday 3rd – 9am – Church Service (Win Howard)

Monday 4th – 9:30am Lets All Check Out Scripture Together (after Stretch)

Shrove Tuesday 5th – Pancake Day (Flip for a good cause) – 10am to noon – a time of fun, donations to disaster relief for Queensland, and of course pancakes.


Ash Wednesday 6th – 5:30pm – Church Council

Sunday 10th – 9am – Church Service (Rev. Myung Hwa Park)

Monday 11th – 9:30am Lets All Check Out Scripture Together

Wednesday 13th – 7:30pm Lent Bible Study at the Church

Kreekers Picnic and/or paddle – Saturday 16th – 4pm Coffs Creek (and of  Edgar Street), with meetup for picnic meal together at 6pm (Contact Colin or Nita)

Night on the Town – Friday 29th – at north side of Coffs Creek / Park Beach Twilight Food Markets from 6:00pm – bring chairs or picnic blanket, your own food or buy from the range of exotic offerings

Sunday 31st – 9am Church Service (Helen Squires)

Saturday 6th April a Safe Church course will be held in our church. It is important for each of us to understand how we can keep safe  our congregation, those using our building and those taking part in any activity we arrange. We need to ensure that these people are safe in our physical environment and also emotionally and spiritually. If you can attend please add your name to the list on the shelf in the foyer.

Wednesday evenings from 7.30 our Bible Study for Lent will continue. This is held in our church and is being led by Myung Hwa. Stretch & Stability Class – Monday and Wednesday mornings at 8:30am (contact Maureen)

That afternoon: Sunday 24th – 5pm – ‘Walking in Their Shoes‘ – an occasional gathering for our community to seek help in answering the question, ‘Who is our neighbour’.  5pm to 5:45pm enjoy a light meal and time together, then from 5:45 to 6:30pm a talk by and time of discussion with Shaun Hart, a Gumbaynggir man  who will give an insight into his childhood and his growth into becoming a leader in his community.

Thursday 25th – Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea from 10.30am in our church. The theme will be “Teacups and Travel”. As well as a delicious spread there will be a display of travel memorabilia and china. Your friends are most welcome to join us as well.  Contact Ailsa (6658 3051) or Maureen (6653 1439).

Night on the Town – on Friday 26th from 6.30 at the Sawtell Golf Club – where the food is great and we are always warmly welcomed.

Note:  Games – A small group who play on Mondays from 5.30pm to whenever we get tired. We play at the Church. Entry is $2, mainly to cover tea, Coffee and Milk and Biscuits and to replace balls etc. We have two tables and are getting our 3rd soon. Bats and balls are supplied, but you can bring your own. We also have a pool table for those who prefer Pool or 8 ball. If you are a beginner, you are still welcome.
